I wasn't referring to you as The California She-Devil. I was talking about the original California She-Devil. You remember her, I would think. She would pull OF's finger for sure, probably right out of its socket. She would never consider herself above giving OF a dislocated finger, maybe even a dislocated shoulder. |

Pfft. You with your comments of nonsense. Failed to kill it? All lies I say. Too much has been going on, way too much. Things finally seemed to have settled down. got 550 points out of 500 on a health project (Extra credit for turning it in early helps, doesn't it?). Midterms - All A's and B's except for one C+ which was only 3 points away from a B. Well, that's over with. Now I'm just waiting for March so I can be on my way to the fabulous Germany. I'm looking forward to it, most certainly.
I didn't think it really mattered, but hey I thought I'd update you anyways. I had and have a legit reasoning for being gone, didn't I? I even got my report card back the other day. Straight A's. Even I'm suprised. I know, I know, hold the applause while I continue on with my gloating and pig-headedness.

3. I wouldn't do that in the first place
4. I don't plan on drinking that crappity crap crap that you people (my parents included) call an alcoholic beverage.

I'd never cause problems in Germany, I like my heritage too much. Of course.. I've got some french too, but I don't find that to be as 'cool'. I like to visit the places where my family originated. For instance I went to Ireland last year. I could absolutely live there. Their march whether was exactly like that of Oregon's.

4. Ah, I have to agree, lager beers are decidedly lacking. Most beer in the US is lager. I prefer heavier, yeastier type brews. They often go by the name ale. There are a lot of different varieties, don't let the common commercial varieties prejudice you.
5. Whatever.
Oh, puleeeeze tell me you're not Irish. I somehow don't think I could bare that. |

-- But I'll say this much. One of my grandmother's maiden names was Higgins and my other's Prather from the Irish origin.
Then there's always MY last name which my dad said came from the Ireland region as well.
Then you get the Roland with the French and what have you..
Then there's the stories how one of my great-great-great grandfathers or somthing met a cherokee girl.. -- You get the idea.
Anyways, I'm registered in the chickasaw tribe for my dad's side too. I'm only 3/16, but apparently that's enough, eh? Then about 3/16 for my mom's side too.
I could go on forever about my family history. You know, we traced it back to 1777?
Well, I'll let you ponder that now while I ponder what OF was saying..

Ummm, Higgins? Prather? I'm sorry but those don't sound very Irish to me, but then my last name wouldn't ordinarily be associated with Ireland either. We came late, in the 1100's. You mention Rollo. Rollo was not French, he was Norman. Nobody really knows where the Normans originated, a good guess is Finland, they certainly were not the Gauls that inhibited the area during the Roman wars.
Anyhow the Normans defeated King Harold at the Battle of Hastings in 1066 under Bill the Bastard, er, William the Conquerer as he was later know. Yes he really was know as William the Bastard before he conquered Britain, the Normans being a pretty irreverent bunch that liked to call things like they were. Anyway, my ancestor Guillarume L'archer was one of Bills lieutenants during his conquest so got a big chunk of the English countryside as spoils. Which he apparently parceled out to his kith and kin. Apparently there were a lot of them. Anyway it appears that my direct ancestors were way down the food chain, so they went to Ireland. Now they never mentioned running into any Higgins or Prather's in Ireland, although I remember living next to a Higgins family when I was seven or eight. They didn't seem very Irish either, just hill billy. Anyhow, I would really rather you not be Irish, as it would sorely vex me.
As to your AmerInd claims, possibly, I really wouldn't know. I have a cousin that actually looks like she might have some Indian. We had the Cherokee story in our family, but I went to research it when I was applying for student aid, because being 1/8 gets you minority status and hence all kinds of considerations for aid that other people don't get. For our family the story was a complete wash, a pure fabrication. |
